About Dana George
As the daughter of history buffs, I spent a great deal of my childhood visiting historical sites. While other families traveled to Disneyland, ours headed to Gettysburg or some obscure 19th century homestead. I never got those Micky Mouse ears, but I was instilled with a love of history and a passion for research.
It is impossible for me to stand in the spot where a battle once raged, treaty was signed, or everyday people lived a hardscrabble life without feeling their essence. It’s as though each person who passed through left a bit of themselves.
Being ever-so-practical, I graduated from college with a degree in business. Still, I kept my hand in history by writing about it and dragging my own children to long-forgotten ghost towns and sometimes-stuffy presidential libraries. Hopefully, my sons learned that history is never about the place, but about the people who once lived there.
I recognize how fortunate I am to have the opportunity to write about history and to tell stories about the people who lived in another time. I’m particularly excited to introduce a new series of paranormal books. They give me the chance to consider what life might be like just across that mysterious divide.
I’m married to the sweet guy I first met in high school history class. In addition to our two sons, we have two amazing daughters-in-law and a dreamy granddaughter.
